Amber and Evan’s NYC Rooftop Wedding to Remember

At The Wedding Plan & Company, Month of Coordination is our core service and the minimum amount of time you can book with us! Working with our couples approximately 30 days prior to their wedding allows our Senior Planners enough time to create a relationship with each couple and gives them the time needed to check in with all vendors and the venue(s) to guarantee every detail is accounted for to run a smooth and stress-free wedding day!

Meet one of our wonderful April 2022 Month of Coordination couples, Amber and Evan.

Amber and Evan met through their employer, Phillips 66. Their original meeting was at a recruiting event, but they didn’t actually connect until about a year later when Evan joined the company full time and they both ended up working on the same floor.

Evan had planned to propose on a trip to Melbourne Beach FL, while they were in town visiting Amber’s family; however, as he was going through airport security in Newark, he realized he forgot the ring! Evan quickly texted a friend who went into his apartment, got the ring, and stealthily brought it to the airport…all under Amber’s nose! Once in Florida, he was unable to find the right time to pop the question until the last day when he brought Amber to the beach and asked her to marry him.  They celebrated that day with Amber’s family before they headed home to New Jersey.

These Midwest transplants fell in love with the NYC area and knew that they had to share that magic with their friends and family who traveled so far to celebrate with them.  The couple chose the Monarch Rooftop in Manhattan for their celebration and enlisted the help of The Wedding Plan & Company to put the finishing touches on their wedding.

Senior Wedding Planner, Christie, worked with the couple during Month-of Coordination.  Christie worked with Amber and Evan to finalize the last details, create a thorough timeline (an absolute must for any wedding day), and work with every vendor, the hotel and the venue to make sure every detail was accounted for and everyone was set up for success on Wedding Day!

The theme of Amber and Evan’s wedding day was rooftops! The couple got ready at their Jersey City apartment and took their first look on the rooftop of the building which had spectacular views of Hoboken/Jersey City! Then, the entire bridal party was shuttled to the amazing Monarch Rooftop in New York City where the bride and groom said “I do” 18 floors up in front of all of their family and friends.

Bridesmaids wore black dresses, and bouquets were classic neutral black/white with tiny pops of pale pink. One of Christie’s favorite pictures from the day was when the wind kicked up during rooftop portraits with some balloons (See photo!)

Christie says, “I loved spending time with Amber and Evan’s family and friends the morning of wedding day.  It was plain to see how they had become such amazingly sweet and kind people. The bus ride into the city with the bridal party was a pretty fun time too and, of course, those NYC views all night long … unbeatable. The entire day was just perfect and I was so glad to be a part of Amber and Evan’s love story!”
